Leapfrog Alphabet Pal - No Go -UPDATED

After three phone calls to corporate (1.800.440.0680 ) - I am left frustrated. Why would they publish this online policy if they were not going to honor it?? Note the FULL list of exclusions. I plan on writing an e-mail to Target and respectfully informing them of this particular issue. Fell free to join me :).

I am grateful for the great deals and coupon they offer, but feel they need to communicate a clear and consistent policy regarding coupons and price matching. Am I asking too much?

Just a heads up - for anyone planning on doing to Leapfrog Alphabet Pal deal at Target today....All 3 Idaho locations WILL NOT PRICE MATCH A DOOR BUSTER AD. So the best you can do is use the $10 off Target coupon and snag it for whatever Target is selling it for.

They will only price match a printed weekly ad.

I agree with you whole heartedly. I was up bright an early, got my kids ready and was at Target by 9:05am, (they open at 9am) only to find the shelves empty. I was frustrated, but decided to ask at customer service if they had any in the back. She had one that had been returned, but then told me they will NOT honor the price match ad. She showed me the "exclusions" sheet they had and sure enough, it says they do not honor "doorbusters." Very frustrating indeed. I would be happy to help in the fight for this, just tell me what I need to do. At least ALL targets are on the same page in this one...

I wasted probably 2 hours of my life calling around to toys r us and target stores trying to get this deal worked out. Im curious to see what States had luck getting Target to honor their written policy. Hopefully we can use those stores as examples of how it should have worked here for us. Major bumer!

Hey there... Florida here. One of our stores was out of stock before the sale even started, but told me that if some should come in by tomorrow, they would honor it.

I checked online at the store across town and they had some available. By the time I got there, they had sold them all to one lady who had come in with the ad.

While I had been told on the phone that they would not honor the deal until 3pm (the time on the ad), they sold these to her just after lunch.

Hey, at least they are honoring it!

really? what does ONE person need with ALL the inventory in the store. Please people, be considerate of OTHER people too. We all want to get in on the good deals and on things like this, 1 MAYBE 2 is all you really need!!!

I'm wondering if Walmart will honor it, along with the Target coupon? Do you know? They honor "doorbuster" prices from other stores on Black Friday. Do they honor competitors coupons?

I haven't had good luck with Target with coupons in general, even with the store policy it is kind of a luck of the draw. I was able to do the Barbie princess dvd's just fine. Although Glad candle coupons, was a no-go because I couldn't use the BOGO on the refill packs along with the money off the canisters. I explained to the manager they were all seperate products and she was really very rude and wouldn't even consider it. I feel bad for the cashiers who have to return all the products because the managers consider couponing a personal insult.

I will say that Fred Meyer had that Leapfrog toy on their Black Friday ads for $10 the last two years (got them for my neice and nephew). Walmart doesn't ever give me grief about using the black Friday ads to price match (although they do other things). Not sure if they will go for the Target coupon though. If it beeps, they usually just say "sorry". I would be willing to take a look at the Black Friday ads if you think it's worth your time or you are shopping Walmart anyway that day.

As for the inventory...I really hope somebody was donating those to a worthy cause like Toys for Tots. I just have to think they were helping others and not just helping themselves.

Walmart is a toss up when it ocmes to taking competitor coupons. The alphabet pal is $15 at walmart so you may have better luck just trying to use the coupon w/out the price match to get a final price of $5.

They almost always have issues price matching and taking a target coupon on one item.

You could always try though - I've gotten lucky a few times trying to use target coupons!

Walmart will not match a price and honor a coupon. They are sticklers that way!
