Also in this issue they had a great list of "Wise Buys" at the grocery store. Basically, it's a list of the highest ranking food in terms of nutrition with the lowest cost per serving:
- Bananas (potassium & Fiber)
- Beans (protein, fiber, V.B)
- Broccoli (V.C)
- Carrots (V.A)
- Citrus Juices (V.C & Potassium)
- Eggs (Protein & Choline for brain development)
- Fortified Cold Cereal (iron, folic acid, calcium)
- Milk (calcium, V.D, protein)
- Oranges (V.C)
- White Potatoes (carbs for energy, V.C) - $.98/10lb @ Albies
I though this was a great list of foods to keep in mind when purchasing non-coupon products. Maximise every dollar, right?
