Purex - Update

Just FYI - I went to the Meridian Fred Meyer store today and tried the Purex deal again - and it worked!!

I bought the color safe bleach and the purple lid 50oz varieties. NOT the 20% free varieties. When I left at about 2pm, they had an untouched shelf full of the hypoallergenic variety left!

Purex Laundery( 50oz) - $1.99 (with in ad coupon)

Scenario:
Buy 2 = $4
-get a $4 coupon to use on your next purchase
Final Price = FREE!

*And if you have the $.35/1 from the Red Plum insert 1/10 (expires 2/20), you can make $.70!

Cashier said to me yesterday, at Fred's on fairview Meridian, I told her the Soap was a Great Deal, she then said to me, I would never do this, it's stealing, your only paying .22 cents, this is stealing from the store. I then said to her better call 911 then, because I'm walking out of here with 18 bottles of soap, She was so pissed off she called the Mgr. because the coupon states limit 2 per purchase, he told her I was doing nothing wrong, that I had 9 purchases, and to ring the order, made her even madder, the mgr did not take her side....so funny

That's funny! Sometimes it's better just to brush it off and smile.

Don't they know they are getting paid $4 from the manufacturer? It says it right on the coupon. Duh!!

PUREX CAT DEAL PULLED!!!!!!!!!!

I just read that this promo has been pulled. Several sites are reporting it and here's a quote from one:

"Well I just spoke with Advertising at Kroger Corporation at the Corporate offices in Cincinnati. The woman was very kind and did track down the information so I do thank Krogers for the customer service offered in tracking down the truth in the halt of this promotion. The woman in Advertising called me back promptly to inform me that as of Saturday it had been reported to the company of fraudulent purchases being made by convenient store owners and flea market stands who were clearing shelves in multiple stores by purchasing and using the coupons to receive the product for free. Under the preface of fraud, they did remove the Catalina promotion, as stated "One Bad Apple can spoil it for all" by the company. I did question if it would be turned back on after the sales end for what was the remainder of the promotion and was told probably not."

**Apparently, there was a couple in Cincinnati who cleared out 800 bottles of Purex from 20 stores!!!!

Very aggravating... I hadn't purchased my Purex yet and was just about to head out.... TOTAL BUMMER.

My husband stopped and grabbed some on his way home at the Fairview store in Meridian at 5 and the Catalina still printed, but they only had 6 bottles left and were limiting it to one transaction per person. When is the Catalina supposed to stop printing?
