Don't most all of the GM internet printable coupons say Do Not Double? I know the stores I visit will not double them.

Alot of the coupons say DO NOT DOUBLE. Can't wait to hear some of your other ideas. Thanks!

How do you know about those extra promos?

Tamra said...

I thought most of them would say DND - at least Betty Crocker. You may have some luck at some stores, but I think the general consensus is to not double them.

The extra promos I either find inthe stores - they print randomly from catalina machines - or from various forums from other shoppers who have found them.

HotCouponWorld, and AFullCup are great sources for random finds.

Just had the worst experience at the overland and 5 mile Albies. I took my sister-in-law for the first time to coupon. We did the GM deal but every time they rang up her Cherrios coupons the computer said that it was for hamburger helper. They gave her a really hard time about that but they were totally legit coupons ( I printed them myself). But when they typed in the numbers the coupon said that it was for Cherrios so they let her use them. We were at the self checkout (the lines were so long at the regular, I guess the threes a crowd policy doesn’t apply to this particular store), but anyways then her cats wouldn’t print. So they gave her a hard time about being in the self checkout with coupons. Meanwhile I did my transaction and then my cats didn’t print out and they also gave me a hard time about being in the self check out. So after they force printed both our catalinas we went to the regular checkout, par their request, to do the rest of our transactions. The same thing happened with her coupons not coming up as the right thing at this register again the cashier this time was rude to her. They let her do it though and then she went outside because she was embarrassed. Also when I did my transaction the 5.00 oyno cat didn’t print and they had to force print that also. (Not with out attitude from the cashier mind you). While I was waiting for the cat to print out I could hear the cashiers and managers talking about how they thought that my sister-in-laws coupons were fake and that she looked like the type to forge them. At this point I was so mad that I got my catalina and left. I had more shopping to do but will do it at a different Albertson’s because we should not have been treated like criminals just for using coupons. I would never alter a coupon just to save money and neither would my sister-in-law. It isn’t worth my integrity to save what a buck or two. And the idea that they had thought that she looked like the type to do that was so insulting. I didn’t realize that the people at the overland and five mile store had been trained in profiling coupon criminals. How CSI of them. But I digress, my real reason for writing this is to let everyone know what poor service I received there and that I personally will never shop there again. My sister in law is so turned off of couponing that she may not do it again. She says that it’s not worth the savings. So consumers beware and I wouldn’t use a coupon at self check out there if you want to be treated with respect. Sorry that was a bit of a rant. I love this site. Thanks for all the hard work that goes into this site.

The CSI part made me giggle! That is too bad it was your sister in laws first and only coupon experience. How awful! I have a few stores I refuse to shop as well, it is humilating to be treated so poorly, and usually in front of others as well.

I know you probably know this, but contact corporate!! HTey need to hear form the higher ups how important couponers are becoming to their business. I have seen a few stores in particular go from being the WORST places to shop with coupons, to some of the BEST due to complaints about customers service. They really just don't understand.

Thanks for sharing! Sometimes the only way to make a statement is by not shopping particular locations.

I have to say I will not shop at the O/5 store,Over the summer my Husband lost his Job he is a Drafter,As hard times go we went on food stamps,it saved our family sometimes you have to have alittle help, well back to what happend to me, I went to the O/5 store and did my coupon shopping well to make a long story short, the sale did not work and it failed to take off my discount, so i went to the service desk and she went over my sale items and the girl asked me "Well how much more do you want to save, you paid with food stamps and coupons" I took a deep breath I said well I was supose to save $5.00, so she called over the MGR. she said to the MGR. she said we owe her $5.00, and did I tell you she paid with food stamps", ready to cry and hide my face in shame, I said thank you for your time and I left the store, never to return there again, well all stories have to come to an end, my story comes with a new begining, my husband started a new Job Dec 1, making $6.00 an hour more then the job he lost,it was a wonderful Christmas, thanks to couponing looking for sales and discounts,we were able to give back, and help some, I learned there are stores out there that are not like that, I like the Eagle Rd store, always willing to help, and if a sale does not work they are willing to help, and with a smile.

If anyone is from Utah County don't waste your time with the Orem stores. I went tonight and they are out of most things. A few things are left but the really good stuff is gone. They got bought out and they only got minimal of the items. Walked away empty handed and sad...

The very best Albertsons experience I ever had was at the Vista/Overland location. This store is a drive for me but I do it every time I want to coupon at albies. They dont get many couponers out there and they usually have tables set up where the promo items are kept to make it even easier for you. The other location that is GOLD is the one on overland and orchard. Again, not a huge coupon crowd and the cashiers and managers are so accommodating. These two locations are close to each other, so I usually do a few transactions at one and then drive up the road to do more at the other. Ive just let you in on my best Albies Coupon secrets! The store makes all the difference. Also, If you can go at night - like after 8, you will find the experience MUCH more relaxing and stress-free. The checkers will be calmed down from the 5:00 rush and more willing to go the extra mile for you.

Sorry for all the bad experiences. The O/5mile location is one of the smallest Albies in Boise. They struggle with coupons and even though that is the closest location to me - I NEVER ever shop there :)

I too use my food stamps to shop with. I used to shop at 5 mile and Overland but no longer will. I have found that they are the only store that actually charges tax on coupons and makes you pay. I questioned the cashier on this yesterday, she didn't know and call the MGR who also didn't have a viable explanation. She said that coupons are a form of payment, therefore we pay tax. I explained to her that I will shop at any other store in the TV, not Albies, because they are the only one that charges the tax.
