I remember my dad letting me sit in his knee, for what seemed like hours, reading Dr. Suess books. He let me read them to HIM. That really instilled a love of reading for me. Now I do the same with my kiddos.

My daughter can not get enough of reading! At 19 months old, she'd sit and listen to stories for hours! Her favorite story is called Tumble Bumble... it's got some great rhyming in it- we read it in the morning, before nap, and before bed at night- I love that she loves to read!

I used to have a different favorite when I was little, however, my favorite childrens book has turned into The Belly Button Book by Sandra Boynton. I had never heard of her until I had my son 3 years ago, and he fell in love with that book. We read it so much, that I memorized it and was able to recite it to him whenever he was upset, and it calmed him down instantly. Love it!
