Free Cover Girl Make-Up

In case you missed the Rite-Aid post HERE, You can get free - cheap cover girl make-up at Rite Aid this week! Almost all Cover Girl products are Buy One Get One Free, combine that with the BOGO coupon that came in PG-8/30 , and you get FREE Make-Up!

I went shopping for some today and scored! One store (Fairview and Meridian) made me by two items (and got 5 Free) but the other RiteAid rang them all through free (34 items) and I only paid tax.

Total Price paid = $16.89
Total Retail Price = $349.7 (before BOGO's)
Total Saved = Over 95%!!

PLUS if I had shopped elsewhere for my first two transactions, I would have only spent $6.89 for all of this! That's 41 make-up items! They had PLENTY of make-up left at both stores. I didn't clear either out of anything.

Ok, I'm interested, but I'm running it through my head on how you did it and I can't seem to get it. Can you tell me how you purchased 2 things and got 5 free?

Thanks,

Shannon

This seriously will give anyone a headache trying to figure it out. On the first purchase I bought 1 item and got 2 free. So I bought 1 at full price and got one free from Rite Aid and One Free from the coupon. The second time I got a little smarter and "rolled" my free items. I bought one full price from Rite Aid, got one free from Rite Aid and one free from the coupon, then used the item I "bought" (free)with the coupon to get another free from Rite Aid.

I only did it this way because the cashier was making me make an initial purchase to start receiving the free items. Alot of Rite Aids will not make you do this, which is why I left and went to another location to do the rest of my transactions to get all of the rest of the products Free w/out a purchase.

I bought two items: a foundation and a free face product using the BOGO 8/30. The free face product is actully being "bought" using the coupon, so the foundation rings up as my Free item from Rite Aid. Does that make sense? This equal 2 Free items.

Hope that helps!

can you do this all in one transaction? or do they have to be separate?
I have three of the CG coupons for buy one foundation, get one face product free. Is that the right one? So I should be able to go pick out 6 CG make up items and only have to pay for one? Is that right?
Can I just give them my 6 items and my three coupons and be good to go?
Thanks for any help!

Man, that makes my head hurt reading it. But, I've read it like 3 times, and it is starting to make sense. I'm new at this couponing thing, and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Thanks for the help!

I have also read your post about how you did this but am still really confused. So you basically only have to buy one product to get as many free as you have coupons for? I am just wondering how this works. Because in essecnce you are only buying one thing and how would you get another 30 something for free??

Candy if you go to a Rite Aid that allows you, then you should be able to get all 6 for free.
Here's an example of what I did in one transaction.

Purchased:
8 foundations priced 6.99-11.99
5 Toilet paper .99 each
1 Wet Ones wipes 1.99
Coupon used:
4 Covergirl bogo coupons
1 5.00/25.00 purchase at Rite Aid(coupons.com)
1 1.00/1 wet ones (bricks coupon)
Total before coupons: 49.00ish
Total after coupons: 3.57

Plus I will get a single check rebate back for 1.00 for the wet ones and I will get 5.00 back for there new fall savings program (sorry I don't know it's name.)

Final total: 2.43 money maker

So the sale is buy one get one free from Rite Aid. You then are paying for the price of the other one with your coupon. Two for free. Just remember that they both have to be the same price to get them free. Also if you use the 5.00/25.00 coupon make sure that your total is 25.00 before coupons and have them ring it up first or it won't work.

I bought mine at the Caldwell store. They were very coupon friendly. I hope that helps.

OK, that helped me! Thank you! I live in UT, but I think I will go try it today.
I have three of the CG BOGO coupons. So I should be able to get three foundations and three eye make ups for free right? As long as they are of equal or lesser value right? Good thinking to use the $5/$25 coupon too!

Thank you!

At most of the stores - it doesn't matter which product rings up free - as long as half the items are foundations (this is what the coupon specifies), the cashiers will ring up the other product free. most are nice enough to do this and most will not make you purchase any product.

So, take your coupons to any store (except Fairview/Meridian - that I know of) and All your prodcuts will be free.

If you wnat to play it safe, just make sure you "face" product is more expensive than your foundation - you should have no problems with the coupons that way!

Thanks for the tip. I was able to get a years supply of foundation for free! I went to the Meridian store yesterday in the afternoon and the coupons worked smoothly.

Thanks for the tip I posted it on my blog and referred it to you. I hope you don't mind! Btw do you think they have printable coupons for this type of offer ?

I check and see but I haven't seen any BOGO Covergirl coupons - and sure, we always love link-backs! take whatever info you need!

Great deal! I am so glad some of you were in such good luck! I was a daring soul and tried a Meridian run and probably shouldn't have. Good news is they took one coupon as payment for the other product, however the cashier fixed the problem of not allowing me to add up product to make $25 by just not scanning the second product at all! OMG, This is icky because Rite Aid is suppose to have a return policy on their makeup as well (but I would need the product on the receipt first if I needed to exchange it!). The cashier was sooo angry and bitter over this deal and I only got TWO Covergirl items total! IT isn't money out of her pocket?!

Walgreens is having a BOGO on Cover Girl but it isn't on foundation-darn-because I would much rather give them my business these days. (the meridian location is always dirty and dimly lit and kind of shady feeling-not to mention the register wouldn't work so I stood there a good 20 minutes for a receipt-blah!)

Lesson learned-Meridian location is truly not a good store to purchase these items from
