Albertson's update...

******New update******

Who knows what's going on with this sale!!!! Some ladies are having no problem, some stores are having tons of problems, other ladies are able to buy the items on the lower part of the ad, some are not, some catalina's are printing perfectly, some are not- AUGG.... sorry for those of you trying to do these deals. Corporate missed over 100 upc's on this deal, so it's been a nightmare in some places! Hopefully you'll have great luck! Let us know how it's working at your store, too! Thanks!

I'm pretty frustrated. I did get my catalina's, but I didn't get anything I really wanted. All the "good stuff" is gone. I basically got alot of crap. I'm still not conviced about this couponing thing.

None of my Catalinas printed out as they should, but I was able to take care of it at customer service. I did 2 transactions totaling up to my $30, and with my double coupons and catalinas, I spent $22 total and have $20 in Catalinas for my next order. That's essentially $2 for all the "crap" I bought :) I prefer to call them splurge items, like Breyers ice cream, Klondike bars, and fruit snacks as potty training prizes. I'll spend my next $20 with more doublers on things I'd already buy, like meat, milk, cheese etc. I definitely think it's worth it! Thanks discountqueens!

My store manager said the Wish Bone items weren't entered in the system correctly, so she just gave me extra catalinas when they didn't print. She's the best EVER, and also now my facebook friend - so I make sure I come in on her night.

I walked out with 10 bags of groceries for about $30 out of pocket. Suuuwwweeeeettt!!!!

I had a pretty great experience at the 5-Mile & Ustick Albertsons. I was able to use the 5 doublers I had (another helpful couponer gave me 2 of hers), I got what I wanted (cereal-because I had 5 coupons for it) and my catalinas printed just fine.

I used the Overland and Orchard Albies for everything I bought and never had a problem (other than bad math on my part for one transaction ). My score to date is as follows .

24 jars of ragu
15 jars of peanut butter
9 bottles Wishbone dressing
16 Knorr side dishes
8 boxes of Cinnamon toast crunch cereal
2 boxes of Lipton soups
5 boxes Pop-Tarts
4 cans chef boyardee ravioli's
6 bottles of All Detergent

My total OOP was about 55 dollars as I didn't have coupons for the peanut butter my first trip through and I managed to short myself by 1 dollar on a trip and miss out on my catalinas (I know rookie mistake) . Thats an average of .62 cents an item .

I would have to say I think the coupon thing is worth it as I will only get better at it as time goes on .

I had no intentions coming off rude to those of you who love couponing, I just havn't had much luck like the rest of you. It honestly seems like everytime I give it a try...I get stuck with "the old lady" who will not let me double coupons from coupons.com On top of that I try to get things that I want and the shelves are empty. Leaving me to choose other things that I really don't need. Today I had a plan and when I arrived at Albertsons off of 10Mile with all my kids, there was No ALL, No Ragu, No Vasaline Lotion, No Swave Kids Shampoo/Conditioner...the list goes on. When I finally refigured my list based on my coupons and the current promotion...the checker wouldn't let me double. I have to throw the doublers away because I leave town in the morning. So, thats my long drawn out explination. I'm hoping my luck will turn, but so far no luck here.

The only problem I had at my albertsons was that everything was gone. If it wasn't for a friend going in and having them hold stuff I wouldn't have gotten any of the good stuff that I needed.

I sent my husband out to run these deal starting yesterday morning and he bought tons of great stuff {Cottonelle, Ragu, Dove, Qtips, Axe, Water, Knorr, Ritz, Chex bars, ect ect} at several different stores. In the end he spent $58.00 OOP and came home with $22.00 in CATALINAS and 6 free movie tickets! Retail of everything he bought would have been over $800.00 INSANE!

JoAnna....could your husband teach classes to other husbands. ;)

Anna...hang in there chick. You aren't being rude, you are just venting. The learning curve on this couponing this is maddening....just remember you don't have to hit every sale, I just took a month long break....it was well worth it to get my sanity in check again. Best of luck next time.

I have done 3 transactions now, at two different Albertsons (Ogden & Layton, UT), and none of them has printed Catalinas. All of them involved Wishbone dressing, so that could've been it. The first transaction, I had crappy employees who wouldn't give me my catalinas, so I had to get my money refunded and my coupons back. The other two, though, I got nice people who just gave me the catalinas anyway, even though they didn't print. It can be pretty frustrating not knowing if the catalinas will print and if your cashier will be helpful or not.

I totally get how overwhelming the Albies deals can be... that is why I go late and night with NO kids and try to have a plan (still...I am often clipping coupons in the store, seriously, does anyone else do that!!?) ... but I do think alot of it is about profiling checkers and sticking to the ones who really WANT to help, rather then the ones who are annoyed. I also find that going with a buddy helps me, plus it makes it funner. (even when it gets stressful, lol!)
Thanks DQs for all your great info!
Anna, hang in there... I feel your pain, been there!!

This has been the craziest sale! I get the frustation as well! I have never seen catalina's have so many issues and the stores so unprepared!! I was told that this sale was a last minute thing and the stores were unable to prepare and stock. If this has been your first experience with this type of sale don't give up!! I have never seen it this crazy before and hopefully they will figure things and and re-stock by the end of the week.

I loved yesterday!! Lucky '7' made my day. I made 4 transactions and my total would have been $207.00 for 52 items but with the 7 doublers I MADE $3.00 last night. What a night!!! I also made a lot of friends and do not get frustrated. Take time and think it through and go organized. It will be well worth it. In june I would have spent $800 but only spent $124 OOP. I spent on avg. .24 an item!! July should have been better and this month should be even better. I do not buy any thing anymore unless it is FREE or under .50 after savings. It's fun and rewarding.

Ok, Anna and Spencer, here are a few tips: At Customer service they have a list of what Catalnas are supposed to print, so take your receipt to them, they will count the items and issue you what you should have gotten. I do this all the time and the machine is usually wrong on big sales. Next, PRINT OFF THE STORE"S COUPON POLICY AND TAKE IT WITH YOU! Then if you get someone who tries to tell you they don't except this or that, whip it out and read it to them (nicely, of course!)Also, go early in the sale and order the items you want...and they will get them before the end of the sale and keep them for you. My store will issue rain checks at the sale price too. Then you can buy later when you can afford it. Hope this helps! Thanks, Discount Queen....you're the best!
