I am amazed at how many people don't use priceline to bid on a vacation. With the bad economy, it's the perfect time to get a cheap vacation. I just booked a 3 star hotel that includes a free breakfast buffet in the morning in Portland for $35 a night. Over the years we've stayed at some pretty nice places we could never pay full price for for DIRT CHEAP. If you plan on bidding, you may want to check out biddingfortravel.com first to see what things are going for. Keep in mind that different dates or slightly different areas of the city can change things quite a bit. Also, a general rule of thumb is the bigger the city, the better the deal. You're going to find your best deals in the airport district of big cities--- we've gotten great rooms in Phoenix, SanFrancisco, etc. Once in a while if you stay in a resort there's a resort fee or a parking fee in cities with parking problems (you can park across the street if you're that cheap). Other than that, I've found it to be pretty straight forward. Anyway, then go HERE and bid. You've got nothing to lose!
